October 2022: Passwords are the bain of most computer users existence! In our October meeting we discussed the importance of having strong passwords. We also talked about precautions to take if you write passwords on paper or in spreadsheets. We discussed whether to use web browsers to store passwords. In addition, logging in to websites using social media, or other, credentials (known as OAUTH - Open Authentication) was discussed. Finally, we talked about using Password Manager programs.

November 2022: We continued our password conversation at our November meeting, focusing on using Password Managers. We discussed the most common features of PM's, listed some of them, gave some recommendations, and showed how to use one. Get your passwords under control by having to remember only ONE password. It's the best way to go to keep your online accounts secure and private. It is worth the extra effort.
